Lost in the Middle
200 page graphic novel for middle schoolers to shine a light on the power of collective healing in the face of grief.
We worked with clinical psychologists to ensure each character in the book
had a unique and authentic experience with loss.
Throughout the book, QR codes let readers scan to receive videos directly from our characters — giving them advice on how to cope with different problems.
So that's 200 pages worth of narration, dialogue, text exchanges, dream sequences, flashbacks, social media posts,
and of course, illustrations. From google doc manuscript to a full color printed graphic novel.
We launched the graphic novel at New York Comic Con, with the help of Will Reeve, son of Superman
actor Christopher Reeve, putting grief support center stage at the event. We brought the book to life
in an interactive booth and gave away hundreds of copies of the book.
